Midfield Dynamo Musa Saad on the Mend
AFC Leopards have encountered unexpected challenges as their midfielder, Musa Saad, is forced off the field due to an injury.
Saad recently underwent a Bankart repair surgery on his right shoulder. It is projected that this will cause him to miss several matches in the current season.
The midfielder took to social media to share news of his operation and to express his gratitude for its successful completion. "Underwent a successful Bankart repair on my right shoulder... Giving thanks to the Almighty. Let's unite and be together on this recovery journey, family," he wrote.
Bankart repair surgery is a minimally invasive procedure aiming to restore stability to the shoulder following a dislocation.
Saad, a South Sudanese midfielder, has inked a new one-year deal with FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards in July 2022.
The club has officially announced his contract extension. Saad joined the Leopards from Thika United in 2018 and expressed his commitment to the club, highlighting his desire to repay the trust placed in him.
Holding dual citizenship from South Sudan and Kenya, Saad initiated his professional career at Nairobi City Stars, making 24 appearances. He later moved to Thika United, racking up 63 appearances. AFC Leopards secured Saad's services in June 2018 when he was just 20 years old, and he signed a four-year contract with the club.
In September 2019, the player also underwent trials with Spanish club Velez, though the potential transfer did not materialize.
