A Setback for AFC Leopards and a Stalemate at Kasarani

The path of victory remains elusive for AFC Leopards as they experienced yet another setback in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, succumbing to a 1-0 defeat against Bandari FC at Mbaraki Stadium on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

This discouraging result persists despite the recent strategic move to bring Coach Tomas Trucha on board, replacing Tom Juma in a bid to rejuvenate the team and lift them out of the relegation quagmire.

Abdallah Hassan, Bandari's relentless force on the left wing, consistently tested the Leopards’ defense, nearly converting an opportunity into a goal in the game's seventh minute. Edward Satulo also stood out as a formidable adversary in the midfield, keeping the Leopards on their toes for a significant portion of the first half.

The Leopards managed to hold their ground in the initial half, but their resistance crumbled in the 56th minute as Derrick Nsibambi found the net, putting Bandari ahead. Post the goal, AFC Leopards’ cohesiveness seemed to unravel, and they were fortunate that Bandari did not capitalize further on their chances.

On a different pitch, Bidco United and Murang'a Seal ended up sharing the spoils in a goalless draw at Kasarani Annex. The result halted Murang’a Seal's winning streak, preventing their third consecutive victory, while Bidco United remained in pursuit of their first win in three matches.

Bidco United saw an early opportunity to take the lead, but Sharif Musa’s attempt failed to translate into a goal. Martin Mbugua's shot was skillfully saved by Seal's goalkeeper, Boniface Munyasa, keeping the score level.

John Kiplang'at sought to break the stalemate for Seal, but Bidco’s goalkeeper, John Otieno, was up to the task, keeping their hopes alive. Musa had another shot at goal later in the game, this time set up by Samuel Ndung'u, but his effort veered off target.

Daniel Omondi made a valiant attempt to snatch victory in the 86th minute, but Munyasa, consistently impressive throughout the match, denied him, ensuring the game ended in a draw.
